I picked up The Last Flight by Julie Brown on a whim. It was a free read on Kindle at the time that I read it. Free reads can be hit or miss. However, this book was a total hit! I was hooked from the first chapters! I was rooting for the main character the whole way through the book.
In this classic story about a woman living with an well known public figure that is abusive behind closed doors. She hatches a plan to escape. Her plans are set and with excitement she sets everything in motion. But last minute changes ruin her plans after they are irretrievably set into motion. . With few choices available she ends up taking what sounds like a miracle when a stranger offers to swap tickets at the last moment. . But that miracle comes with its own issues for both ladies.
This book tells the stories of both ladies and their situations that brought them to a place where they desired to swap identities. The characters are identifiable and such that you wanted only the best for them.
I wanted to see the escape of an abusive husband. I wanted them to persevere and win. I wanted the last flight to be successful! I was on pins and needles when things got sketchy. I was 100% vested in the plot of this story. It was one that I didn't want to put down because I had to know how it ended
