Another fictional novel for me as I read The Summer House by Keri Beevis. It was a quick easy read that had me wondering 'who done it'.
The fictional story starts in present day time with the return of two siblings to their childhood home to prepare it for sale. The house holds amazing memories of their grandmother who raised them but also sad memories of the time that their sister was murdered in the summer house on the property. The siblings are at odds from the very beginning and it isn't long until the reader pics up on the angst of the murderer of their sister. THe mystery deepens with multiple characters that could be the perpetrator and the author keeps us in suspense as the main character is attacked in an effort to drive her away from the truth. The reader is left guessing quite a bit in the book, trying to figure out who is wreaking havoc on them not only in present day, but also many years before with the murder of their sister. Friends or foe, this novel kept me guessing. The Summer House was a great read, and I was happy with how it turned out, which is a great bonus!
